New products in particular tend to lose fluff at the beginning. There is a simple trick to prevent this: put your bath rug in a pillowcase for washing. For most bath rugs, drying on a drying rack is the gentlest way to prevent this - after all, most bath rugs have a non-slip rubberised backing. By the way, to keep a nice surface, you should shake out your rug from time to time. This loosens the pile and also keeps it nice and fluffy.

If you want to do without a carpet in the bathroom, there is an alternative with the practical towelling rug - you reduce the risk of slipping when getting out of the bath or shower with wet feet. The towelling rug can be hung up to dry after use and stored on a shelf or in a cupboard, keeping your bathroom carpet-free as desired.
