Cleaning and caring for your toilet seat

Once you have found the right toilet seat for you, you naturally want to keep it for as long as possible. Proper care and gentle handling of the seat and lid play an important role in this. You should clean the surfaces of your toilet seat with a damp sponge or cloth and use mild and natural cleaning agents. Never use cleaning agents containing chlorine or acid. These can lead to discolouration and paint peeling on the seat and lid or to rust film on the hinges.

Duroplast

Duroplast is a very high-quality material for toilet seats. Toilet lids made from this material have a particularly high-quality, ceramic-like appearance and a comfortable seat feel. The material is also extremely scratch-resistant and durable. Special material properties also ensure germ-inhibiting toilet seat surfaces.

Thermoplast

Thermoplast toilet seats are made from polypropylene. Although this material is less hard and scratch-resistant than Duroplast, it is nevertheless durable. As thermoplastic seats have a very smooth surface, they are correspondingly easy to clean. This variant offers quality at a particularly favourable price.

Wood

Toilet seats made of solid wood or wood fibreboard provide a pleasantly warm seat. In addition, in combination with other materials, the material allows for shapes and designs that are difficult to produce using plastics. If you decide in favour of a wooden toilet seat, look out for the FSC® label. This symbolises responsible and socially responsible timber management.
